We are delighted to be hosting the 11th Annual Postgraduate Research Conference which will take place on the 6 March 2019 at Manchester Met.

Risks and Beyond!

The theme of the conference is Risks and Beyond!. We welcome multidisciplinary abstracts on research risks, uncertainties, how we overcome them and the future implications to society.

Risk is inherent in all aspects of life, from making everyday decisions to hypothesising new ideas for the benefit of the wider community. These risks assess the limits of humanity’s knowledge, challenge creative thinking and push boundaries beyond our wildest imagination.

Manchester Metropolitan University is welcoming multidisciplinary works that discuss these research risks, uncertainties, how we overcome them and the future work sprouting from the risks taken. We welcome responses in the following areas:

  • How do risks motivate your research?
  • Research risks, decisions, uncertainties and the future
  • How to prevent, minimize and overcome risks?
  • What are the lessons learnt and positive impacts of risks?
  • Risks in the lab, during field work and while running simulations (including what variables and questions to consider)
  • Implications of risk in our research
  • Moving forward.
