    From thrill seekers to family time, music connoisseurs to movie spelunkers, we have something for everyone at this year’s AND Festival. Take a look below at our programme split by interest.

    THRILL SEEKERS AND CAVE DWELLERS
    Join us on a fear inducing journey deep within the walls of Speedwell Cavern, experiencing a multi-sensory, performative journey only for the brave-hearted. Not quite enough? Swap your popcorn for hard hats in our Horror Movie Spelunker Double Bill of Tremors and The Descent.

    VR, DIGITAL CULTURE AND OTHER WORLDS
    Experience the serene landscape of the Peak District in a new way with Doreen A Rios and Matthew Plummer-Fernandez curated, augmented reality experience My Wall is your Filter Bubble. Or recess into the bodies of our caveman ancestors with Ooni’s VR piece We Dwell Below

    KNOWLEDGE SEEKERS 
    Challenging the way we think about archiving and preserving our digital lives for future generations is exhibition Digital Dark Ages in the majestic surroundings of Treak Cliff Cavern. Whilst questioning how we now animate the past, panel discussion and talk Rendering the Past will explore how we can now visualise previously hidden or forgotten histories through new rendering and image making techniques.

    MUSIC LOVERS AND DEEP LISTENERS

    Experienced as a guided tour through Peak Cavern, Listening to the Dark is a series of prodigious sonic experiments, explorations and expeditions that can be found deep under the earth in the subterranean bunkers of Peak Cavern. Accompanying the tour is Friday’s one off music based event. Producer and DJ Nkisi joins contemporary musician James Ferraro for a night of unique live performances deep within Peak Cavern as part of Listening to the Dark’s Evening Event.

    MOVIE SPELUNKERS

    This year’s film programme is a vertical adventure featuring a selection of rare archival footage, artist’s film and digital reconstruction techniques, classics from Werner Herzog and immersive screenings in Peak Cavern – we will take you on a journey from satellite imagery to the wild underground.     KIDS AND BIG KIDS SPELUNKERS

    Experience the festival as a family with Heavy Metal Detector – a playful walking tour around Castleton village, guided by artist Steve Maher. Fancy a relax? Come to our afternoon screening of The Goonies. As the sun goes down across the valley, catch Studio Roosegaarde‘s dreamlike projection across Winnats Pass that reflect the beauty and power of water in the UK premiere ofWATERLICHT.
