Setting the Table – The Home Studies Collectiondocuments a series of responses to the Home Studies Collection.

FEASTinvited Catherine Bertola, Augusto Corrrieri, Bryce Evans, Rachel Rich & Susannah Worth to develop new works in response to the collection which holds more than 700 books on topics including food production, home economics, food preservation, food technology and regional cookery.  The resulting responses form a complementary guide to the collection.

To celebrate the launch of the publication artist Catherine Bertola and historian Rachel Rich will reflect on their own research, as well as the collaboration which has emerged from their time spent in the Collection. Rich and Bertola share an interest in women’s work within the home and its relationship to time. Their talk will introduce history and art produced in response to the instructions women have received from their cookbooks and domestic advice manuals.

Following the launch, the publication will be available to download as a pdf from the FEAST website as well as to view at Special Collections Library, Manchester Metropolitan University.
