Volunteering opportunities – Get involved in one of the most important events in Sociology!
The 14th ‘European Sociological Association’ Conference – one of the biggest sociological conferences – will be coming to Manchester this summer (20 – 23 August 2019).
The previous edition of the conference (Athens, 2016) had more than 3500 participants in attendance and we expect the Manchester edition to be as big – if not bigger!
The Local Organising Committee (with representatives from MMU, the University of Manchester and the University of Salford) is recruiting student volunteers to help during the conference.
Student volunteers are at the heart of the conference.
As a student volunteer, you will volunteer for up to one day in return for a conference fee waiver. You will receive training that will allow you to provide support in one of the following areas:
· putting together conference bags and name badges
· signage (live signage)
· the registration desks
· taking pictures
· information desks
· general IT support
· social media environment
Being a volunteer means:
- you get to be part of one of the most important events in Sociology – for free!
- you build your networks and meet new people with similar interests.
- you gain volunteering experience and add to your CV.
If you would like to join the team of volunteers, please contact Benedicte (firstname.lastname@example.org) to register your interest.
