SNA is based on the idea that relationships matter. It uses a set of procedures for investigating social structures through networks and graph theory. It can be quantitative, qualitative or both (mixed-methods). SNA methods have been applied across many disciplines from physics, film studies and business, to history, criminology and sociology. This session will introduce some of the key SNA terms, a selection of research examples and give a brief overview of some of the available software tools.
